we've just done this and it was a question I asked - it can go off at any time on the day you've have requested from 7am as it depends on the rounds of the metre-reader. Fortunately ours didn't go off, though I don't know why - I rang to check it was scheduled and they confirmed it was. In hindsight I've not checked our metre-reading against the final bill though.
