Thinking of moving from AR to VH but where are the communal pools? The estate agent tells us that there is one near the main entrance but we couldn't see one! Is she making it up? We're looking at a C2 in Estella that backs onto the golf course - any cons with this? Am I likely to get smacked on the head with a golf ball :)

There are two communal pools. One is by the entrance from Motor City behind the convenience store and the other is on the boundary road (turn right after coming in through the Emirates Road entrance). Coming from AR and the gorgeous pools there you may find yourself a little disappointed by the pool facilities on offer in VH (and add to that the fact that they are not open yet). Landscaping/running tracks etc are great and it is a great environment for children but for pools you should stick to AR or Motorcity.

I would strongly suggest that you take a look at the (incomplete) pool before you decide to move. Just before you enter VH from Motor City take a right into the adjacent street and peek over the cream VH sign. You will see the pool there. It is not open for use yet. We were told that it would be ready soon, and we moved in 6 months ago. It is meant to service 5 VH villages, and as Ashes has suggested it will be busy! We bought a membership to the Polo Club up the road, to use the pool, but that is not as convenient as a communal pool. I have heard that the golf ball collecting machines (?) can create noise/disturbance in the middle of the night, but this information is 3rd hand!

Depends on where the villa is on the golf course and what the golf course is doing by this villa (i.e tee box, green, fairway etc). I have friends with a C1 in Estella who have had buckets of balls in the garden and have now put up sails to try and get some sort of protection but another who is in Novelia on the course with not 1 ball yet. Not sure if the community facilities are open yet and believe that, at the moment, only Estella will have them but all of VH will be using them so imagine they will be quite busy.
