can someone give me the rough cost of taking on a maid who is laready in dubai vs one that we call on our own (not through agency). as far as I can gather:

cost of getting a new maid from abroad: (work permit fee 270 dh + 2000dh deposit + misc typing/attestaion fee + ticket + visa fee 5000dh + medical)

cost of taking on a maid already here ( ???)

hi, you might have the answer already? I had the same question and called the Amer hotline (the customer care of Immigration).If you take a maid from here it depends whether you are doing a transfer from previous sponsor to you (haven't done that, so don't know the cost, but it is cheaper then when starting afresh, I was told, I presume because there is no need for a medical) otherwise there are extra cost like 'fine for already in the country visa' of 500+ and maybe changing status from 'husband' visa to employee visa also 510 or so. hope that helps, but anyway call this hotline, they were very helpful.
