Has anyone else water consumption doubled?!! We live a villa in arabian ranches and the water has doubled in the last month! I don't think we have used that much , shocked not sure whAt to do

It might also be a faulty stop cock in your water tank. This happened to us, the stop cock stuck so that the water tank just kept on filling and over flowing. Our bills were double at least. This happened on many occasions. Now we check our DEWA reading every week ourselves to check for massive changes in consumption. If you know where your water tank is, lift off the man hole cover you should be able to see the stop cock. The water meter will also keep on turning even though you are not using any in the house. Increasing the amount of times you water your garden and for how long also has a dramatic effect on your water consumption. Because of our meter checks we can really notice this.

I have found that at least once a year they actually come and check the meters. All throughout the year DEWA estimate your usage - and charge you on what they believe you are using - so there is always one month that plays 'catch up' so to speak. It happened to me, I had DEWA come out and check meter, check for leaks and then they said that they only actually read the meters every other month (or as I understand once a year!).

Check the meter against last months consumption - suspect you have a leak shock! sadly you seem to have a leak so you'll have to pay for what's been used ... Sadly I've been there at 5,000aed!
