Hi
Do you know where to park for free if you visiting Marina Spinneys or one of the restaurants around Walk? Do you need to get a ticket stamped for minimum spend or validate it to avoid parking? Is first hour or two free? Does Spinneys shoppers have separate parking?
I am visiting that area this morning and would like to be prepared.
Thanks for all the info

Well that's my Tuesday night trip to the marina stopped, as I refuse to pay for rip off parking! Best bet now parking at Marina mall and get a 2 dirham water taxi to the marina when we do go

That's right Yorky was there today and Spinneys couldn't stamp tickets. Just when they should be encouraging visitors to the marina, so short sighted, this is going to harm them and people will go elsewhere.

Update... new parking charges....free for first hour and then chargeable 2nd hour 10 aed sorry didn't notice charges for more than 2 hours. No extra free time given from shopping at Spinneys, OK if just popping to Spinneys but pushing it if meeting friends for lunch or coffee... 1 hour is simply not enough. So no more stamping of tickets if you visit restaurants or the dentist?

From what I understood there are two parkings in that area. I parked away from Spinneys, so that was why? I just felt cheated and I'm very sorry but 20AED and hour for parking is excessive!! I don't feel like going back there and complaining. I only met my friends there because it is more convenient for them. Think next time we will meet at the Madinat instead.

Very strange that the restaurant stamped the ticket, as they are not part of the scheme. I would go and complain to them as well, as if you had known, you could have gone to spinneys as daily did. This is what I used to do too, when I needed to park there, cause the cost is excessive.

there is sand parking right opposite to Bagel's place, instead of taking marina walk turn you need to take a second right after it, roundabout left and drive untill u see sand parking on ur right, its free and it takes just 3 minutes walking to dubai marina walk.

I went for dinner at the Walk yesterday evening. I parked in the underground parking garage. I was early and walked around for a little bit. In the end we went for dinner at Reem Al Bawadi. It was lovely. I spent four hours there and had my parking ticket validated. I expected to have to pay for two hours as this was what it said on the signs. I was very surprised to then be told that Reel Al Bawadi was not part of 'this parking' and therefore I had to pay for four hours. I did complain, but as there were cars behind me I felt I had no choice but to pay and drive off. As they charge 20AED an hour!!!!, this was a costly evening. I do not mind paying for parking, but this is excessive. I was informed that there is a sign at the entrance of the parking stating which restaurants fall under their parking validation. Needless to say I will not return. It is a real shame as the Walk is a great idea, but without reasonable parking I would rather go elsewhere. I am surprised that they stamped/validated your ticket if they are not part of the scheme. We were once at Dome and when I asked them to stamp the ticket they told me they weren't in that scheme as it is only the restaurants in the Emaar buildings that are included, so I just popped into Spinneys and bought an etisalat voucher for my phone and then got the free parking.

Yes free parking if they stamp it. That 'mall' as died a death since the Marina mall opened and they dont advertise freely that parking is free which in has put so many folk off. The restaurants are virtually empty these days.

If you follow the Marina Road (sorry not sure of name) round to the left past Spinneys and down towards Marina Mall, you will come to a second entrance marked "Marina Walk". Turn down here and you will be facing a roundabout which fronts a fountain and the water where Captain Jack's cruises leave from. There are 2 car parks under the buildings either side of the roundabout. The one on the right is closest to Spinneys. You get free parking for half an hour and you can get your ticket stamped with purchases in many of the shops and restaurants. Presumably Spinneys is one of them. I don't know what the minimum spend is though, sorry.
