Contact the specialist in the Uk and ask them if they can recomend someone as all these specialists know of collegues around the world as they are part of organisations/conferences.
i'm doing an endocrinology search. My son has a rare and serious chromosome disorder and was seeing a very high up specialized consultant of endocrinology in the UK till we moved here.

Tallyscot,
If you are in an emergency situation you should not need to wait until june.
I have replied to your other thread but if you want to follow this chap. Contact the clinic when you are calm or get someone else to do it for you and explain the emergency so you can get the meds you nedd if they are the same and do not need adjusting.
How much medication supply do you have ?
Is there someone who can get some for you at home and bring it until you see him in June ?
Do you know if the same brand is available here if not it may need to be changed.
I know it is difficult but try and take a step back and see how you can get around this as I am sure you are under alot of pressure and worry.
If you are getting upset trying to deal with it ask a friend or someone you have met who may be able to help you.
Let us know how things go, medical issues are a big concern.
Ok, I can't get an appointment with Madani till June!! I made it, but hopefully find something before that as my son needs his meds. This is an awful process to find medical attention (I WANT TO GO HOME!!! :()
Dr Waseem, at the North West Clinic has been superb with my 10 year old son, I would HIGHLY recommend him.
Dr Waseem is a paed gastro. This is nothing to do with endo....although he is a fantastic paed.

There is a big difference with paed endo and regular.
DD sees paed endo and there are none actually working in private clinics in Dubai. The only ones we have found who specialize in her area are in Dubai hosp and Mafraq Hosp (AD) both govt.
Thank you so much, I will call Mazaya centre and try to have an appointment. I have no idea about the government system here so wouldn't have a clue where to begin with all the red tape you mentioned for obtaining a card.
You've been a great help, thanks again.
I think the clinic in Mazaya centre is called Al Borj, but you can google it
HTH

Sorry, you already answered that. So basically i would just need to chance my arm with an endocrinologist there is that right? i mean you can't recommend one.
They work in teams, so it is never the evaluation of one doctor.
Yes I can recommend Dr AbdulRazak Al Madani, he is also the director of the hospital, and is the one that the palace here use and call upon, he also disgnosed my f-i-law with a pituitary tumor....you can ask for him. He also has a private clinic in Mazaya Centre.

I don't think you can get into paed endo. It will be the adults clinic.
So a different team of doctors. But they do work in teams which is a good thing.

Can't I call Dubai Hospital directly and make an appointment with Dr. Hassan Mundi?
Nooooooo, he will only see patients upto 12 yrs old, unless they were already patients he may keep them until they are 16. His clinic is only on Thursday mornings, and appts are scheduled 3 months prior.
This is a govt hospt, so you will need to follow the tape. Nothing will be done on the phone.
Thank you so much, although perhaps I should mention that he wouldn't qualify for paeds anymore since he's now 17?
We're pretty new here, how do i go about getting him a health card? We're covered by my husbands health insurance for most hospitals.
Thanks again. :)
ahh. 17. he can be seen by the regular endo unit then.
You will need to apply for one from the DOHMS, maybe your local peripheral clinic can issue the card, if not then the card reg place at the rashid hospital. See the doctor at the clinic and ask for a referral to the endo clinic.

i'm doing an endocrinology search. My son has a rare and serious chromosome disorder and was seeing a very high up specialized consultant of endocrinology in the UK till we moved here. I am now searching to have him seen here and i'm very nervous about it as he needs highly monitored by someone who really knows their stuff and can prescribe high doses of testosterone. So far I have come up with
Amel El Tayeb - Healthcare city
M Belal Ashammaa - American Hospital
Nagwa Khalil Akasha - Bekhoul Hospital
Iyad Ksseiry - City Hospital
These are all just recommendations i have found from here on old threads on expatwoman as I'm reluctant to go onto a google search for finding a list of self advertised doctors.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated from anyone who knows of a highly qualified and a super intelligent doctor. Thank you
OKey dokey
this is my area.
Get him a health card from the Rashid hospital
get him an appt with paed endo at Dubai Hospital
they will put him on the list to see the visiting consultant endo from GOSH
Dr Hassan Mundi at Dubai hospital is the best here.
