As far as I know we don't have a choice between Du and Etisalat, only Du.

oooh! that would be awesome if they did! are there rooms for classes? Yeah there are two dance studios (wooden floors, mirrors, etc) that can only have been designed for classes. I hope they're planning on starting them! Maybe we should start our own if not! :)

I'm loving it here now with the subway and gloria jeans and imminent lebanese opening! Very exciting :) Anyone know anything about exercise classes in the gym? They've got two studios but haven't heard if and when they're starting any classes...

aha. well done. I was very puzzled as it is now near the other end as well. Falafel shop opening looks imminent. Though the municipality-required health & safety stuff is still stuck to the door. Can't be long now. Same with Lebanese though that looks a little further behind. A few weeks and we should have another few menus under our door :D

Ok mystery solved, it says Bay Avenue, It's the signage they're putting up for shops not open yet, similar to what malls do. It's now up on a lot of the shops at the front of ET.

We're into our 3rd year, but in any case someone told me that the law has changed and LLs can now put up rent from the second year if the property is below the rent cap for that area. I don't know if that's accurate, but someone else told me their rent went up the second year for that reason...either the poor people got scammed or its true, I dont know. I actually feel sorry for the LLs of ET, they bought right in the middle of the property boom and now the rents are no where near covering their mortgages. More Cafe is a good guess, let's see. Have any of the places on the East Heights side opened yet? Someone said the falafel place was close to opening. Im looking forward to the Lebanese restaurant opening, but it's certainly taking its time!!

It is like a magical mystery. SEY I thought LL could not put rent up the 2nd year? Or is this the 3rd year for you?

I've been trying to figure it out myself and can honestly say I haven't got a clue :-( Also there's a shop opening next to Spinneys...anybody know what that is? I'm loving that we have shops, and can't wait for the roads to be done!!! All this is at a price though, everyone's rent seems to be going up this year.

Does anyone know which shop/restaurant is coming on the G level front facing Bay Avenue? Purple/white signage and it looks like it is taking up about 4 shops?! Can't read the writing. Anyone, anyone, ?

Hi Executive Towers dwellers... I am considering ET - hopefully a podium villa but have concerns about 2 things: 1. access in and out - is it a nightmare? did the road changes over the weekend mentioned below help out? 2. surrounding construction - is there always construction going on around or it is not too bad? Thanks Hi, ET has massively improved over the last few weeks - new shops and restaurants opening all the time, and within the next few months it should be a really great place all round. Access in and out is fine really, the road layout changes almost daily but it's not a problem. There is a lot of surrounding construction noise though, I don't know if that would bother you, but it's definitely not a quiet place to live at the moment. The gyms have just opened though so things are looking up :-)

That's great to know Lil Bubbly, I'm really hoping the security guard was wrong...it's not that I'm against paying for a gym, I'm just against paying for one in my building! Plus the fact that you have written confirmation from BBET is great in case they try anything in the future. Now time for me to hit the gym :-D

So I just went down to see the gym, went to check out the West Heights one and they are officially open. The timings are 6am until 10pm so pretty decent. They're all nice and pretty, although I think they've wasted too much space on tables and chairs than actual gym equipment!! So anyways I was talking to the security guy there who said the gyms are free for two weeks but after that there is a monthly membership fee!!!!! He doesn't know how much this will be yet, but he's almost certain that we will have to pay for the gyms!! Excuse me but what are owners forking out service charges for exactly?! Gyms in Dubai are pretty standard in buildings, and these are two gyms between 10 towers! I can understand payment for classes if they're bringing in an instructor but not for use of the actual gyms!! Let's see what happens but I seriously hope he was wrong... We received an email from BBET saying that there would be no additional cost.

If you have to pay it's a joke in my opinion! I hate the way the estate agents can tell you anything when they want you to move in and get away with it....surely it should be mentioned that there is a fee for the gym!! Plus, with only 2 gyms for all the towers it is hardly worth paying a lot of money. I really hope the security guy got it wrong! :)

I just helped a friend house hunt at ET and the Estate Agent told us that the gyms opened today...would love to know the timings though and I'm hoping they won't be packed! I did see the note in one of elevators that state that both pools are now open from 6am until 10pm. I will explore later and hopefully begin my New Years Resolution to lose some weight (we'll see how long that lasts!!)

If anyone actually manages to use the gym today, or at least goes down and find them open, then please let us know!! I've been waiting for the gyms for 2 years!! Nothing in the elevators this morning to tell us they're open :-( edited by SEY83 on 10/01/2012

Hi I know I should be posting this on the Maids section, but hope it will be more productive on this thread as I live in the development. I am looking for a live in nepalese maid, and have seen a few on the development, so am hoping that some of the employers of these maids may read this post. Does anyone know of any nepalese maids looking for a new family, or anyone with a nepalese maid, who knows someone else either here or back home looking for a live in position. Please email me on [email protected] thanks

I've pretty much read every comment on this thread as I've lived in Exec Towers for 2 years, but I've so far been a silent participant...the gyms opening is something I definitely feel a need to comment on!!! How exciting! Maybe I can now (finally!) go back to being fit again!!!
