Actually, not getting desparate, we are desparate !! Maid no. 7 (or it could be more) started today, made an excuse to leave and is not coming back !! So please, if anyone knows of a maid who wants a full time live in job in Al Barsha (separate accommodation and visa provided) could they let me know.
TIA

Why do u not get a full time live In through an agency, explorer for one my friend uses. As your not having much luck. There for you won't lose money if when u sponsor them and they want to live after 4 months . You won't have to do no more interviews and you won't have to sponsor them so life would be easier. Good luck.

I hope you manage to find someone, its a nightmare! I have a new maid a first for me, we had a houseboy for the past 13 years and I can tell you he was a LOT less hassle! I have decided if for any reason she does not work out or royally does my head in over the next 12months, I will just use an agency a few times a week and do the rest myself or move to a smaller house haha. here's hoping for us all :)

Hi JShepherd - It wouldn't be so bad if they would give it a decent chance. Yes, it is a big'ish villa, but they are not required to have anything to do with the care of the children, or cooking, there are no pets, all they need to do is keep the place clean. Although they obviously see the size of the villa when they come for interview, possibly they have second thoughts and realise they can get a similar salary for a lot less work. I agree that they have become rather spoilt. There seems to be a shortage of available maids and this is why they can be so choosy. I know a few people who are experiencing the same as us. Anyway, onwards and upwards as they say. Another one coming for interview today so fingers crossed !! edited by amelia on 06/07/2011

I don't mean to be funny but there MUST be a reason why the maids are leaving? Can you think of anything that might be driving them away? Working hours? babies or too many children for them to handle? Pets they can't handle? Rules they can't handle? The villa is too big and too much work for them? Too much responsibility? There must be something? I'm not saying you are doing anything wrong, but they must be going because of something? I think a LOT are very spolit these days and are very choosey, I'm sorry you are having soo much trouble trying to find someone. How about as a last resort going throu and agency then they cannot run anywhere and will be fixed with you for a year !
