Dragon Mart without hesitation plenty of choices and small prices...if you have the time to go there ! Mercato Beach Center and Town Center (I'm not sure which one) has a gift boot on the ground floor with some choice Dubai Library (the shop on Sheik Zayed with the big fountain pen) has some choice also.

The Japanese store, I know there is one in mirdiff mall for sure facing carrefour and al safeer mall in sharjah,but am not sure of the name, they have nice gift boxes with good prices. Daiso There's also Daiso in Lamcy Plaza and Meena Bazaar in Bur Dubai.
