Hi Maracas, I will resume play after Sept as it is no fun to play in this heat right now. Els Club has a ladies morning on Mon or Tues which is quite good fun as there is a different format each week and quite social; Montgomery also has one too. There should be some decent membership rates for the winter season so worth joining. I've been with Els this year and they had a AED 1,000 per month pay as you go for ladies. Let me know what your email is and I'll drop you a line if you fancy going out one day.

That's a great link kali_MM. The friendly games sound like fun. Will have to go and introduce myself some time! I would also be very happy go to play a 9 some time on the weekend. Sounds like Arabian Ranches par-3 course is quite cheap. Will drop you a line when I get back in Sept.

Maracas - check out the Women's Golf Middle East website - www.womensgolfme.com. They have regularly scheduled events and fun days (there's a par 3 day at Emirates on Aug 2, I think), which are reasonably priced and good fun. I've made a tonne of friends there, and never lack for a golf buddy. Al Badia also has a female pro, Joanne Bates, who would be able to hook you up with golfing friends. She's away for the month of August, but will be starting up her ladies' classes again in September. Sadly, work has cut into my golf life, but if you want to go out on a weekend with someone who doesn't take her golf too seriously and likes a natter, send me an email - my username at hotmail.com.

Hi Maracas, I'm in the UK at the moment and all my golfing buddies have left Dubai permanently so I will not have anyone to play with on my return. I usually play Emirates par 3 or Jebel Ali because they are affordable and I don't have a handicap but play to a reasonable 34 on a good day. Hi all, having recently moved here with my bag of Callaways, I am hoping to meet some other ladies who regularly get together for a game. I'm in Al Barsha so I know there are three courses nearby, though I am very glad to go play at other courses as far as Sharjah. I usually hit about a 95 on a full round and enjoy having a 'round' at the 19th hole. Any female golfers out there??????
