Ahh, that sounds like what they call the "Mongolian Stain". My daughter has it also. Apparently it only appears in those that have Mongolian blood in them!! go figure. My daughter is half lebanese, so maybe there was some hi-jinx in generations past!! I'm not sure if a chemical peel is the right thing for that - I would go and have a consulation, and definately lather on the sunscreen in the meantime. My mistake was not protecting my face from the sun and the pigmentation became "deep pigmentation" which is harder to cure :( I will go and take this up with my Mum. lol Thank you. lol. It could be from a hundred years ago!! Strange how genes can come back to bite you!! I would definately have a consult though. My first consultation was free of charge btw - make sure you mention that you expect the first consultation to be free of charge!

Can this procedure be done on different parts of your body? I have a big dark patch on the base of my back which stretches over most of my bottom and another on my neck and chest. I have had it since I was born and my Mum said they were tea-stain birth marks and not much that I could do about it! It never really bothered me but recently I have noticed them getting darker, especially the areas that catch the sun. I would love to try and fade them a little. Thank you. edited by Connect on 03/08/2011

I went to CosmeSurge, Dr Rana. She applied a mask to my face which I then had to keep on for 7 hours. I washed it off myself at home. I was given a moisturiser to use twice daily and on the third day (if I'm not still red) I'm to use a follow up de-pigmentation cream which I have to use for the next coming months. I saw lots of before and after photos which showed really great results. I paid 2500DHS, this includes the cost of the creams to use at home. Will let you know in a week how it is - the results get better and better as time goes by, so in 6 months time I'll be looking great, hopefully!
