Hello,
I have already done some research here, but did not find the correct answers.
We would like to sponsor a maid who will be coming on a visit visa (she has worked in Dubai before). She is 28 years old and from the Phillipines. Is the age a problem, as I have read in another thread they should be 30 years old?
If she is here, how to go about. Sorry, but I have no idea. I assume my husband needs to do everything.
But where?
Maybe I need to say we live in Dubai, but have an AD residence visa.
Is it right that it is not possible anymore to transfer a visit visa into a working visa, so she needs to leave the country again and must enter on a working visa?
What is the cheapest option? I have heard of an island named Kish ??

I would really appreciate some advice, maybe from someone who just had the same situation.

Last but not least: How much would an agency charge for this service?

Thanks very much in advance.

I am not sure on the fees in Abu Dhabi, but we just did this for our new maid from Sri Lanka. If they come in on a visitor visa and you do decide on employing her, you will have to fly her out of the country and back again so she can be on the valid employment entry permit. You can fly her to Doha on Emirates or to Iran on Kish Airways. Both of these are over 500 Dhm. From what I read, your husband doesn't have to do the application himself - he can have a representative handle it. My husband's employer has someone who handles the visa stuff for them....

Thanks very much for your reply. Is it possible that this additional fee is 500 DHR? Do you have any idea how much the visit visa costs? We are still not sure if we would like to get her first here on a visit visa or provide her immidately with a working visa.

Maids visa has to be processed in the same place that sponsor's visa is issued ie Abu Dhabi. It is possible to transfer a Visit Visa or a Tourist Visa into a working visa. Just have to pay a small fee.
