There doesn't seem to be a lot of logical thinking here in Dubai, Wuffles, as we know....Also, I think they were banking on selling lots more Golden Circle Tickets on the night, so I think they assumed that they would fill that area. The radio was announcing that the Golden Circle tickets were reduced to AED500 on the day of the concert and they sold one at the venue to a friend of mine for AED400 and this was 30 mins after the start of the show... edited by chizz on 09/04/2011 They'll probably sell even less golden circle tickets in the future now people know that it does not guarantee them anything special despite paying so much extra.

The service station for the drinks was horrid! Ordered a simple on me u drink and waited 10 minutes while 6 staff just stood huddled together over one other order. The section that sold oatmeal cookies had staff that knew about customer service and progression at least. I asked around now about Boy George's comments , he had said he has one god a blue god. Apparently he is a devout Follower of Buddah so I don't see he meaning to offend Surely if BG's God is blue, then he's a follower of Lord Krishna, and hence a Hindu?... Fab night either way (bar fiasco and Belinda's sound not included) :)

It was a good night. It's standard procedure to let others through to the front if it's not full these days, which is why I never buy the expensive ones. LOL the artists never EVER go to the after parties. [color=#000000'>Yes they do Chocs01! Usher (along with his amazing dancers) did plenty of post concert smiling for the punters at the Naisimi Beach after party. Ditto for Pharrell Williams at the NERD after party at the FC Inter-con. Amy Winehouse didn't have the nerve to turn up to her after party there the following night but her band did.[/color'>

Weak excuse-they knew how many Gold Circle tickets had been sold surely-all they had to do was rope off a smaller area before opening the doors-seems pretty basic-if I had paid the extra I would be demanding a refund. The promoter would have been aware how many tickets had been sold so point 2 doesn't wash with me.

Official response to someone on Facebook from Here and Now organisers for why the General Section was allowed to merge with the Golden Circle: Thank you for your comments. I would like to explain. Golden Circle had 5 Drinks vouchers and food vouchers and you are absolutely right, you should have had exclusive use of the front of stage area. This was controlled for the f...irst hour or so - regretfully as the organiser we have 3 problems to deal with 1) The venue. They made lots of promises, they failed to deliver on most of them. The bars where hopelessly inadequate, the service terrible. Lots of angry fans where pushing and crashing through to General admission to get served. 2) The promoter refused to put the acts on until we moved the barriers forward, whilst doing this hundreds of people pushed through and security lost control. 3) Health and safety and the police then insisted the barrier be removed or the show would be cancelled as people where getting crushed. We are sorry for the inconvenience but regretfully there was nothing we could do about it. Yeah, yeah the venue pulled it all together at the last minute as everyone else was so disorganised! It was Kid Creole who demanded the barriers be moved. edited by Chocs01 on 09/04/2011

would you seriously expect the artists to hang around with the punters at the party afterwards ??? No, lol, as I said the artists never go to the 'advertised' after parties, they normally have their own, with invitees only. Poor Jeff Price was a trooper though, he ended up working and doing far more, above and beyond what he was meant to do. It's always a bit of a risk with these small promoters without a long track record. But overall I think it was a good night out.

LOL the artists never EVER go to the after parties. I don't think BG was offensive in anyway, merely stating that everyone is equal and good on him, if anyone took offense at that, they seriously have issues. The bar was atrocious, really bad. I'm so glad we had a friend who was driving and I left my car (could get a cab there in the first place), the taxi queue was horrific. Fair play to Belinda for getting up there and giving it her all, she'd been hit by a nasty virus in India and was very poorly beforehand.

I had a blast, went with a real good group of friends, dressed up like an eijit and had a great time. Didn't find Boy George offensive in any way whatsoever, I'm not his biggest fan, but I really enjoyed him and Belinda Carlise was great. Paul Young was a bit of a wet fish though. Yeah the bar scenario was a bit of a nightmare but enjoyed some crack with other folk waiting so that was fine. All in all, really good time was had by all..............well of us anyway!!

We had a great time, thought Belinda Carlise was amazing. Her voice was unreal and she is still gorgeous. Boy George was great too and his voice has not changed at all. Thought he was really funny and excited to be there, his OH was filming him and the crowd. I didn't take offence to any of his comments at all, he basically said all religions are equal and none are better or worse...as in you should not judge and then he said his happens to be blue.... then went into singing his Hare krishna song "Bow Down Mister". Ditto - we loved it too and thought George was fab and still had a great voice ! he was entertaining and I loved the hare krishna song and took it exactly the same way, no religion is better just one God etc, I don't think he meant any offence I actually think it was quite a nice thing to say, chill etc !!!! The Real Thing and Kid Creole were fab, loved it all and did feel sorry for the GC lot when we 'cheap tickets' were allowed forward, but maybe it did just create a better atmosphere for the artists seeing more people near the front, maybe they should have just had a smaller GC area. We were not drunk either as only had 2 drinks and could not get another as the queue did not move for 20 mins and DH got fed up ! A brilliant evening anyway :)

I bought 7 tickets for dhs650 each for me and my friends for the Golden Circle as we were celebrating a birthday so it was a huge expense for me. I was so angry that they opened up the barrier. Can anything be done do you think apart from writing to the paper and emails to the organisers? Also, I was told on the phone by the organisers that the performers would all be at the after party. I didn't see anyone apart from the guy from Curiosity Killed the Cat. Apart from the above, I danced all night and enjoyed the concert. The waste of money leaves a bad taste though...

I got my dancing shoes on and had a great night. Thought Belinda Carlisle was particulary good. From what I heard, a couple of the acts refused to go on unless the golden circle was opened up. Not an uncommon demand for artists to make, they don't like playing to what feels like a handful of people. I had VIP lounge tickets and thought opening it up was great for the atmosphere.

We had nabit tickets and loved it! I did feel for the gold ticket lot though, it was happy days for us when the barrier was removed ( we weren't drunk either the bar service was so slow we gave up trying to get drinks!) but if I had paid top dollar I would have not been pleased, just felt they knew how many gold tickets had sold so surely they could have made the posh bit a lot smaller so it felt full and was not a big space between front bit and the rest, we have been to a few gigs here now and always buy cheap as the venues are small that unless you are a die hard fan you get a good view. Westlife next!

I had a blast! Paid half price for my general admission ticket, stayed in my section, did not invade the golden circle but heard about the chaos! Getting drinks was a bit of a pain but I thoroughly enjoyed the evening! Best part was watching the plastered bunch around me oh and ...........Belinda Carlisle ROCKS! Boy George.....never really was a fan, still am not.

I am outraged and incensed that I paid 750 dhs to be in the Golden Circle only then be invaded by the drunken General Admission lot. Who's idiotic decision was it to take away the barriers??!! Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the odd 'upgrade' but if I wanted to go into the General Admission centre I would have paid the 200-300dhs. Personally, I feel ripped off and it completely ruined my evening. I would like a refund please! Im glad Im not the only one who thought that! We were quite happy at the front until the flood gates opened and we were crowded like sardines. The security did try to send a few people back, but there were too many of them. I had one lady who kept appearing out of no where, trying to push me out of the way, then literally sticking her nose in my ear saying "I'm fed up of being pushed around in the back" YEAH WELL, Im fed up of you trying to push me around, get away from me! I agree, we should all write to the organisers and try get our money back. Next time I'll know to pay for the cheap seats and then invade the golden circle. What a joke! I'm with you Sabrina H! The after party was pathetic too.

Was anyone near the front? I was nerves that a few concert patrons would vomit on me. Some shenanigans were more entertaining than the show!

I thought is was very average. Not really a great selection of styles of music - too many starts and stops - funky music followed by ballads - not necessarily well done ( Paul Young). And what's with BG? Can't play his own music? He seemed peeved to have to, made inappropriate comments about drugs and god, and then finished with a T-Rex number? I personally love that song, but from BG at an 80's concert? I did however think Belinda Carlisle and KC & the coconuts were good despite REALLY crappy production support. The radio based intermissions were good and we had a boogie any way, but I certainly wouldn't be raving.

I personally hated every minute of it, the sound was bad the organization of the whole thing was a shambles and the escalators getting out was a joke and a real fire hazard not also to mention that the bars were not equipped for the crowds and boy georges performance was so inappropriate. Glad some of you enjoyed it
