oh and rentals for water sports. Jet skis, banana boats, fishing, diving, snorkeling...they had it all.

A few years back we used to go to Bintan Lagoon Resort. Moderatly priced with a kids club, golf course and spa. The beach is quite good. When it's windy they have boogie boards for rent, when the tide is low there is a big rock with lots of smaller tide pools around it for the kids to explore. Pools were fun, food was good with a few choices of restaurants. Rooms were nice and they also had bungalows for rent. Be sure when you arrive on Bintan that you have $20.00 us dollars for visa. They don't want Singaporean currency and were quite strict that it be US. Also, if you're taking the ferry from Singapore it can be pretty rough...take a dramamine (anti nausea). There was another back packer type place we stayed at that also had little huts and a family of four I believe could stay in one. It was so much fun. Very back packer though.
