I should imagine that any wooden floor should be sealed before putting water on it. I have a Black and Decker steam mop which has three different settings and one is for 'wood/laminate' floors. Can also be used on stone/marble or vinyl tiles. I don't have any wooden floors but if you were to use a steam mop on them it would be better to use it on another surface first to make sure that it was steaming really well and leaving hardly any water behind.

Use very hot water with vinegar (acts as a disinfectant as well). Excess water must be squeezed out of mop so it should be almost dry.

I've just moved homes to an apartment that has tiled flooring everywhere except the bedrooms... I'm used to tiles and the process of cleaning them... but I have no idea how to deal with the parquet / laminate flooring that they have in the bedrooms... I know from common sense that using a mop & water is not recommended... Any of you ladies with similar flooring at home? Any advice on how to clean it? Is there a special mop or something I need to buy? Where do I get it?
