Hey Snoopy10! you live my side of town! yay. EIS is after the third interchange right? We've been doing tours of schools - saw Gems World Academy in Barsha. It's very nice but too far out for us. Then saw Gems Wellington Primary behind Shangri-La on SZR. Not bad. It's Brit curriculum and we're looking at IB preferably. Today we just popped by at Universal American School soince Appletiser said her DS is quite happy there. We booked a tour for early December but both my and DH fell in love with it from just the outside! And the admissions representative was so helpful and answered all my questions. Plus it's close to Festival city - quite close to where we stay. So do take a look at UAS if you're keen on IB.

hi preets! i was looking for the exact same feedback on EW when isaw ur post:) i have zeroed in on eis jumeriah.i know a fw ppl whose kids go there from our area and they r quite happy, the primary school is supp to be good.another suggestion by my friends have been Deira Intl and JPS.JPS is however not IB.DI is Ib in the last two yrs only.I know many children going to DI and parents seemed happy though some complain of it not having a good mix of nationalities. The age to start would be 4 in these schools. My DD goes to nursery currently, so that means one more year in nursery then 2013 is when she begins school.I thought she was going to start next year which is why i was looking for info on admission etc.I just figured I have one more year to go! Keep me posted if you get any info on schools pls,I am quite keen on IB as well and live in your neck of the woods;-)

My son goes to UAS at Festival City. Superb school. I have friends who have kids at DIA and they also seem to be happy with that school. edited by Appletiser on 26/10/2011

Thanks Appletiser! Yes I think that's what we've more or less zeroed in on - the IB. Lots of people have been telling me the same. I'm looking at a school that has the entire curriculum - from PYP. If you don't mind, which school does your son go to? We're looking at Gems World Academy. There's also DIA right?

For regular school they need to be four. Not younger. My son is in an IB school and I highly recommend it. I love their teaching style and how confident my son has become with this way of learning. Only problem is IB schools are very expensive in Dubai.

I'm soo confused. I know this is completely our dsecision as parents but I'd just like to have a few opinions. So DS turns 3 in April. He can join a regular school then...this would be Indian board - ICSE. (we're indian). He's way too small right? If we wait then he starts only next april when he's 4. That's ok? I'd really like the IB board because I have a cousin who's done it - I like their global/holistic etc etc style of education. For those of you'll who have kids doing the IB board, what is it like? Kids are liking it? Did you'll choose a school that has all the schemes - PYP, MYP? I stay in the Golden Sands area - that would be far from any IB school - does anyone who lives around here have kids going to an IB school? Which school? Do they take in kids at 4 or can DS start in September when he's 3 years 5 months. DS doesn't go to a nursery. He started off at a nursery, fell ill had to be hospitalised twice so docs told us to just wait till he's formally ready to go to school. The nursery has pushed his seat to next april since he attended just a week of a term.
