Dear All,

We are currently looking at having a live out maid.
Do you know what is the procedure to process her visa and what is the cost?
Been living here for a while but never hired anybody.
Also we had a few mentioning that they currently are on their husband visa.
Is that legal (live out)?

I have a live out maid and agree with Toumi. Process and cost is exactly the same for the visa. Only difference you will pay additional salary to cover her accommodation and travel. the only way to do it legally is to sponsor in the standard way.

Any employment is legal if it has gone through the procedural requirement with Local Labor department. Even for those who are on spouse visa, and wish to take up a job in the market, will need an NOC from Sponsor, in this case, spouse and Labor approval. Visa in this case remains same. Unfortunately, this does not apply on Maids. To be legal, she has to be on your visa. Cost of total procedure depends on nationality of the maid. Dubai government fees are approximately below AED 6K. Live-out is more of your own agreement. <em>edited by touimi on 26/04/2015</em>

On Husbands visa no they aren't legal They have to be sponsored by you or on an agencies visa I cannot help with process or cost though sorry
