Mostly cos I'm too lazy to google :D

1. How is the weather in April?
2. Where is nice to stay (i.e. not like a holiday place you would have gone to during university :D )
3. If you fly to Larnaca with Emirates - is that far from Paphos if you stayed in hotel on that side?
4. Does everyone get visa on arrival and if not, is there a Cypriate (sp?) consulate in Dubai.

That should cover it. :D

Sorry......not sure where the consulate is, try a quick google. All EU citizens have automatic right of entry, i know US get stamped in on arrival, pretty sure Oz/Canada/SA are the same from our guests' experience. There is a visa requirement for Cyprus web page, take a look. Aphrodite Hills are lovely, DH's local golf club! And there are soem lovely villas in Pissouri which is on the beach with restaurants etc in walking distance. Enjoy anyway!

oooh sophie that sounds lush. Do you have the details of the person that owns the villa? LT sorry forgot I'd asked all the questions :D One of us is not a UK pp holder - I guess we go to the consulate here for a visa? Is it in the usual Bur Dubai consulate area?

we visited Cyprus for the first time this summer, husband avid golf fan so we stayed at the beautiful Aphrodite Hills. I rented a 2 bedroom villa with its own pool directly from the owner in the UK and it was just perfect right on the golf course about 45 mins drive from Larnaca airport. We took the Emirates flight that left dubai at 08.30 and were in the villa by 1pm, sitting by the pool wine in hand by 3pm... really perfect. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked again next summer. We were approx 20 mins from Paphos and 10 mins from the new Nick Faldo golf course, Elea. Stunning beaches in the area also :)

Okay............the weather in April should be lovely.......not totally predictable, it has been known to have the odd shower, but usually really starting to warm up.....in the high 20c's. It will still be beautifully green with lots of wild flowers! Best places to stay, probably Paphos or Pissouri...google Columbia Beach resort in the latter. Although Protaras in the east of the island is supposed to be lovely, but i have never been there. Larnaca airport is just under two hours from Paphos, a little less from Pissouri....about 100eu by taxi. Most of the good hotels will organise a car. For UK passports, no entry requirements whatsoever............
