yes seriously- Abu Dhabi to produce mobile humanoid robots from next year to take the place of human workers

They are expected to be "employed" in the healthcare sector, airports, museums and other public spaces.

Sorry but I don't think it is funny...these are real people with families to support. How about if we were replaced by robots and had no income suddenly, not so funny then. Well regardless of the human factor clearly the government has already made the decison to replace human workers with robots in certain jobs, after all you don't have to pay a robot and it can work 24/7, makes economic sense to use them. Its likely more of us will be replaced by them in the future.

may get a more sensible answer from them :\: On the basis of the conversation I just had with a certain store over the phone all I can say is bring them on. Me :"Hello, ( to person answering the phone) Can I ask you a question about if you have a certain product in stock?" Her: "Yes maam." Me: OK, can you tell me if you have xxx in stock?" Her: "No." Me: "You have not got it in stock then?" Her: No maam I cannot tell you." Me: But I asked you if you can tell me and you said yes, otherwise I would not have asked you Her: You can ask me maam but I cannot tell you." Me: That's why I asked you if YOU can tell me!" Her "Can you call back later no one here now." A robot would have been so much easier.
