For the first time I will be travelling alone with 3 yr old DS. I am thinking of booking marhaba service. Those of you who have used this service can please share your reviews about it? Which one should I choose- the bronze one or the silver one?

This for the first time I am traveling alone with my son and I will be having lots of luggage that's why I was looking to book the marhaba service. Thanks to all the ladies for your kind help. I have finally booked their family meet and greet service. Will definitely share how my experience goes with them. edited by monabish on 14/03/2013 My mum arrived and was greeted as soon as she entered the terminal. She didn't have to go through all the long lines and was fast tracked through eye scan and passport control. There was a lady who assisted her and a porter who had her luggage when we met her at the meeting point. She said it was nice that she didnt have to wait and she also felt important :) Hope you have a nice experience with them! Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. That really helps. I too wish I have a nice experience with them. Thanks again edited by monabish on 15/03/2013

I sometimes wonder if it's just a matter of who's working that day. (meaning how efficient are the agents on that particular shift) I've done a search on here and think I've heard good and bad about all the meet & greet companies available. I have personally used Marhaba four different times now and they always worked out perfect. And yet other people have shared awful experiences with Marhaba. Based on this I guess it makes me assume that a bad experience can happen with any of the meet & greet companies. I too have heard both good and bad experiences about Marhaba. As people don't mention which service they took(bronze, silver or family) that may be the reason why their experiences differ. And yes a bad experience can happen with anyone.

My mum arrives this afternoon and booked Marhaba service for her (silver meet and greet). It is her first time travelling to Dubai and she will be on her own so I want it to be easy for her. Will let you know when she arrives. :) Insha'allah she will have a smooth and enjoyable flight and a painless and quick arrival. Enjoy her visit!!!!!! Thanks mrsb! She is very impressed with Dubai and cant wait to see more of it!

Which one should I choose- the bronze one or the silver one? Why are you thinking about using them? They will not help you, only guide you. If you can walk through yourself then you will be ok. They do help you in that they have a special quick line through immigration that does save standing in a long queue and will help you carry all your hand luggage so you can concentrate on your DS, especially if arriving very early or late, it is difficult with children. I have always found Marhaba very helpful.

Thanks a lot ladies for the replies. One more thing I want to ask is that as I am travelling with my 3 year old son, do I have to pay for two for the marhaba silver meet and greet service?

I booked Marhaba about a year ago to meet my mother who was traveling alone and needed a wheelchair (even though she CAN walk it means a weeks rest to get swelling out of her legs). They did not show up! Her English is not good enough for her to find out about why no one is there to meet her so she walked through the airport and managed through security and she was in bed for her first week. After a few emails (and calls that were not picked up) they finally apologized, said there was a mix up and then finally refunded after trying to get me to use the money on her departure. I will never use them and do not recommend them.

Terminal 1 is a bit of pain as you have to go through security as soon as you get there (before check in) so even if you have a friend with you they can't help you. That said the check in desks are about 5 meters from the security check so it is not too far to go. After that you have a bit of a walk to passport control and then hand luggage security. There is a long walk from there to the terminal itself, although there are travelators. I have never seen it busy at any time, but I always fly business and I think it really depends where you are flying and which airline you are flying with. I assume Marhaba/Ahlan will meet you at the first security check and see you through. Ahlan have a lounge they use for arrivals, I assume departures will be the same which might be quite helpful if you are waiting with DS. As for strollers I'm not sure, probably best to check with the airline? Maybe someone else can provide some more detailed advice.

I am actually looking for marhaba service for departure from Dubai. I have an evening flight(16:45) from terminal 1. Does anyone know how busy is the airport at that time? Would I actually need marhaba service or is it easily manageable without that? Can I get a stroller for DS there?

I always book Marhaba Service for all my guests here. They offer a good, stress free service. My MiL arrives next Monday night and I will book them for her too.

We used Ahlan for my mother and grandmother arriving from UK. I booked premium and they were very good. Sorry can't advise on Marhaba I tried to book them but they were less than helpful at the DNATA office although they were good on the phone.
