Hopefully you can get it over the counter but at a price I'm afraid but still not as much as back home. ETA Without a prescription that is edited by moo moo on 05/04/2011

You'll need a valid prescription for it. The Government health card I don't think gives much in terms of medications.

If I couldn't get my medication through the private medical insurance could I get it with the Government health card? Could I bring my medication from UK for a couple of months?

I don't know about your medication, but certainly epilepsy medication is available. Everyone has a government health card, but then any company you work for should provide you with medical insurance. But whether they would cover the cost of medication as it's a pre-existing condition is doubtful.

I was wondering if someone could offer me some advice please. I am planning on moving to live and work in Dubai but I need to find out if my medication is available in Dubai and at what cost? I have epilepsy and need to continue taking Lamotrigine, is this available in Dubai? Also, can expats have a government medical card to use state doctors or hospitals? I would really appreciate any help.
