Hi Ladies,

I am desperate to get some help/comments/ideas. I am 41 ( almost 42), and my period has stopped ( 40 days so far since last one). Doctor also told me I have low pogesteron levels, measured 2 weeks ago.
I had IVF which was not successful 4 months ago, and wonder if my current conditions can be a result of over-stimulation during IVF, or am I just going pre-menapausal?
This is a complete shosk, as my periods are usually regular, aalthough have been a little shorter lately.
I have nad mood swings, really scared and quite upset about it all. Is this it then???? So upset, as I think I am not in the age to ne menaupausal. From the common sympthoms that I find on the net, I have dry vagina and mood swings, no hot flushes, no sweating.
Anyone had such symptomns of low progesterone and no period?

You sound like you're in turmoil and that's not a nice place to be and in itself is enough to upset your hormones. You know you can only really get a definitive answer from your doctor. However, it sounds like a bit of female reasurance is needed. I know nothing about IVF but I am sure that it involves hormone therapy of some sort and that is bound to upset your own body's natural balance. If you had your progesterone levels checked I would have thought they'd check your FSH levels too which would indicate if you were going through an early menopause. You are only 12 days late so please try not to worry as that can only make the situation worse. I know that's easier said than done but relax, try to get your mind on to something else and try not to get uptight until you know whether or not you have true reason to be.

Hi You could try Dr Heather Eade at Dubai Mall - she is more of a natural therapy doctor but really knows her stuff = especially on hormones etc.
