ummmm, what I would like to know is what career is her mother in to be able to afford that wedding?!!
Just goes to show that it's not the clothing, but the individual's morals that count.
The same holds true for Dubai.....LOL

well, despite popular belief, the men-folk work, often in trades and because they don't pay taxes, it's all savings. I would imagine that their overheads aren't huge and so a lot is left over to save for a wedding (arguably the most important day in a girl's life - and there's no uni fees on the horizon).
I have no problem believing that they are virgins when they get married, because in such a small, close-knit community, the stigma attached to not being so would be huge. Their culture and community relies on close bonds, so an ousted family wouldn't be welcome anywhere.

I've just watched the first two episodes and I seriously am in shock!! I can't believe that they harp on about their high morals, but the way they dress and dance says otherwise... What's with the midriff and denim hotpant uniform?!
How scary is it when your dressmaker has to accompany you to the wedding reception armed with a fire extinguisher??!!
I think it is because of the mechanical butterflies on the bodice and the lights in the veil. ;)
PMSL. She looks like one of those toilet dolls that they used to have in Oz in the 60's to hide the loo paper.
Come to think of it...how DOES she go to the loo?
Maybe there's a cathetar under there?
