Need of course to be very careful - most part time nannies are likely to be illegal unless you sponsor them or get from an agency Bear in mind - the 50-100K/AED fine if you are caught with an illegal worker - your position if anything happens to your child while being cared for by an illegal nanny Yes and think if the nanny you hired is abusing your child (we hope not, but things like that happens...), you can't report it without being fined:(.

I don't have kids that are nursery age anymore, but heard good things about the nursery at the Polo Club (jebel ali something...) and Building Blocks in Motorcity from friends with smaller children. Maybe put a note in classified or here with which days you are looking for help, pay, age of child, what you expect etc and you will have someone to step forward. To be completly honest I don't think what you are looking for is legal.....but it might be ways around it, like saying it is a friend helping out or something like that....

Curious to know why you don't like the idea of nursery, as most children loves it to socialize with kids their own age instead of only being with an adult (nanny). I haven't seen a nursery I've liked enough to send them to. I agree the social aspect is important, I ensure they attend plenty of groups/classes. Any recommendations for decent nurseries with good quality staff would be much appreciated. Does anyone have any ideas about finding a part time nanny? We can offer a fairly good salary considering it would only be about 10-15 hrs a week. edited by ashnaisbitt1986 on 22/09/2011

There are some home nurseries in the ranches, not sure advertised more word of mouth. Maybe speak with some neighbours with children and see who they use.

I'm wondering if it's possible to find a part time nanny/childminder? Not a maid and preferably a westerner . I'm planning on returning to work and my husband is at home much of the time, I am just trying to arrange childcare for maybe 2 mornings a week and would prefer not to use a nursery. I was thinking a stay at home mum who's LO's are at school might be interested? Would this be legal? Does anyone else do this? Does anyone know anyone who would be intersted?
