Ladies, I'm doing my head in trying to decide on a party for DD who's turning 2! I initially thought of hiring some stuff from Splash n Bounce and doing it @ home where she's comfortable and to take advantage of this weather, but DH says it may be too cold for swimming in Dec? Thoughts please? Has anyone done a party @ My Gym or Mini Monsters or used Monkeynastix? She's a really active little thing. Or could I hire some sort of obstacle equipment and still do it @ home? She's really not a fan of jumping castles yet so that's not an option. Going in circles here!! Please help...

Hi there, i was talking to a lady who takes a high energy dance/movement class at a local play area the other day about doing something for my DD's birthday. Her classes are fun 30min sessions, enough for my DD. Perhaps thats all you really need for her to break up the play, food and cake? This is her email address that she gave me. [email protected]

I'm sure she can do just that part for you if you wish :) Personally, I would avoid any kind of pool party before at least 8 years old. Really. Pool + party is a very dangerous equation. Everybody thinks that everybody is watching the kids and nobody does. I can't tell you how many times I ended up spending my evening by the pool, supervising the kids while all the adults were having fun. And it wasn't because of my children as they were all swimming since they were toddlers. Remember a child can drawn himself in 20cm of water, and it takes very few minutes. Also be careful with clown and magicians. They can be scary for some little ones of this age - although it mostly goes away after 2 or 3 funny things. Magicians has always been a big hit. But you have to be sure of the one you are hiring. Last one I had was good but not that kind of children....(why on earth do children birthdays then !!!). For the places for such little kids, I can't really help you as we arrived here when our kids were bigger. Hope someone will be able to help :)

Thanks Tiki. I'm actually happy to plan it myself though in terms of invites, decor, food and party packs etc. It's just the activity and someone to run it that I need...

A friend of mine is starting a business to plan birthday parties. As she starts, she does everything at cost price or very close to it. You'll have everything organized for you and your little ones and will be able to enjoy the day :) If you are interested, drop me a line tikidxb at g mail dot com. mods : I don't know if its advertising so sorry if it is. I am just willing to put in contact 2 persons that might be happy to meet :)
