Hi Ladies I was at the doctor for various reasons & she said it sounds like I have PCOS. I have to go for a scan now. Shouldn't I have referred me to a gynecologist for this type of problem? for those that have PCOS - what type of treatment / medication do you take?

TIA

I was diagnosed with PCOS 3 years ago by Dr Nirmala, she is a gynae now at Sulaiman Habib Medical Center in healthcare city. I am also on Glucophage (Metformin) , in some cases PCOS can cause insulin resistance and hence too much weight gain, I have both and have to be on Glucophage to keep things under control.

Many ladies are diagnosed in Dubai with PCOS – usual treatment is diet, exercise and metformin. Dr Sant (Health Care City) and Dr. Ivana (Nicolas & Asp, Marina) know the topic well.
