Sue, that's a very strong point, and there are good reasons why this is governed under the medical system. How many stories have we seen on this site from women who have contracted infections from maniucures or pedicures that were improperly done, with cuts to the skin? Scary!
In the UK, my mother is diabetic and gets regular chiropidy (sp) on NHS as it's so important. I wouldn't recommend diabetics letting anyone who isn't medically qualified near their feet... just my opinion...
He needs to go to a chiropodist/podiatrist for the pedicure - it won't cost as much as you think. Dr Ann Roberts at Health Bay Polyclinicis dual qualified.
Hi shaks. I've looked up on the net 'pedicures and diabetes', and all of the health wed sites say to err on the side of not doing them. If we were in the west, and people in the industry were certified under recognized governing bodies, there might be an option, but here, I would say no.
He could ask his specialist about it. The main issue is that if here to get any cuts, they wouldn't heal quickly or properly.
