Hi all

A guy who works in Jebel Ali has been caring for a kitten with a missing eye. He is taking him to the vets tonight to have an op and they will keep the kitten overnight. He is living in a hotel so can't take the kitten back there but doesn't want to release him back in their unit, he said its way too dangerous. The kitten is very friendly, comes running over when he whistles, sits on his lap etc.
The guy is considering taking the kitten back to the UK with him but because of regs, the earliest the kitten could fly is 1st Jan 2012. Ideally we need a family who will adopt him here and care for him for the rest of his life. If not we need an urgent foster home as from tomorrow night he will have no where to go. If the guy can arrange to take the kitten back to the UK then we just need a family to look after him until then.
If anyone can help this little survivor contact zero five five three two nine one seven eight eight. The guy is willing to pay for vaccinations also.
Thanks

Juniper, if you like I can take the kitten until you get moved in so it wont be as disruptive for her. You will need, what? a week? let me know.

Hi Jupiter Didn't want to call you as it's getting late but thought you might be on here. So the guys taken her ( not him!) to the vets. Good news is she hasn't lost the eye it's there but small. So she's on drops and has been de wormed and de ticked. Vet says she's maybe one week off being 3 months old. He's going to keep her in overnight and have another look at her eye tomorrow. This guy is still adamant that if I can't find her a home he will take her back to the UK in Jan. He is going to get her first jabs and microchip next week before he flies out to Africa. He is happy to pay for food and whatever else she needs while she is here. So would you definitely be able to foster her from tomorrow evening? He will drop her at your place if so. Let me know. Thank you

Hi all Sorry just got in! Jupiter we've already texted. I'll let you know more when the guy rings me after he's taken pirate ( that's what he's called him!) to the vets. It would be more straightforward if we can find a home here, but as long as the guy doesn't back out of taking him to the UK then I see no problem. He is quite happy for me to try and find him a good home in the meantime although it would be a very happy ending if he takes him back with him!

A cat would be fine in an apartment we just moved back here and our cat was with us in our apartment for the past 6 weeks.

barmcake, we might be interested, I was literally just discussing getting a kitten last night with my DH. We've never had a cat before tho, do you know if this little one is good with children and could anyone give me their thoughts on having a cat in an apartment as we may be moving to one next year?

It is not the best option, but couldn't we collect money and contribute to pay his stay at Kennels and Catteries or similar until it is time to fly? In case nobody can foster him.
