hi..

has someone recently transferrred a maid to another family ?

If so can you let me know the procedure urgently ?

i believe cancellation is straight forward and we can go to the Jebel ali DNRD to cancel the visa and after the maid leaves, get the 2000 aed refundable deposit back

But how does it work for transfers and how is the current visa( under our sponsership) cancelled ?

early replies will be appreciated as we need to decide cancel vs trf before aug 31

thks Klijn for your reply now this answer is a bit vague right ? so where will the maid stay and guess not work during this 30 day period as she will be neither here nor there for eg if the maid works with us till aug 31, then can the new employer not process her papers parallelly in the last week of august so that she can start off from sep 1st at the new place ? sorry if my questions are basic

Hi Reva I was in contact with AMER today, and they told me to call 8005111. What I did learn today is that when a maid's sponsor cancels her visa, she is not allowed to work for her new employer until she is under his / hers sponsorship. So there is a 30 day grace period during which she can get her new visa, but during this time she is not allowed to work. Hope this helps Any added info is more than welcome, as I am also trying to get more clarity on the whole process...
