Question about Karama Market - again, sorry

I used to live almost around the corner of Karama Market but have never been there before.
Tomorrow I would like to go with my mum in law. Where is the best place to park? I will come from SZR?

I also have no ideas what will expect me, besides faked things. Is the market open all day or will they have a daybreak?

I would be very much interested in leather handbags (don´t need to be a special brand, just nice once ) and some jewellery as presents for friends.- not so expensive ones like around 80 DHR maybe for earings.

What else is worth to buy there? Are there any special recommendation for shops? What prices should I pay for just a normal leather hand bag?

Sorry for all these questions and thanks in advance for some info

Karama is an experience, i love going there simply for the banter. You can get Tshirts - fake but good quality (depending where you go) Fake handbags of designers, purses, scarfs, jewellery, shoes, regular clothing items (non branded). Nik Naks, souveniers, open all day from 10am except friday when it opens around 4pm. There are different qualities to the fakes they sell, there are just fake and then genuine fake, they will all ask you do you want to come and see their bags and it can get a bit tiresome in the heat looking at all of them, so my advice is to just check out a few, or go for a reccomendation of somewhere if you want something specific. Enjoy, like i said i love Karama the atmosphere is a welcome change from other areas in Dubai all very friendly.

There is a really lovely bag shop that sells reasonably priced woven bags in different sizes and lovely colours...there's one in Festival City and one in Jumeirah at one of the little Malls on Beach Road. Begins with C (Cholange...something like that). Much better than fake stuff as the stuff in teh shops is pretty rubbish. I think you can only get the good stuff if you know someone and they can show you their 'private' collections, whihc might be a car ride away. I got a couple of Birkins that way and they are nice ones.

Honestly, all the bags I saw so far in the shops are never real leather, only if I buy really branded ones. My friend told me, at Karama you get real leather bags, and very often they offer you different qualities for different prices. there are good fakes and better fakes of the same bag (if you know what i mean). And you can smell the leather as soon as you walk into the shops. Oh and be prepared to go "through the back", then the other back then upstairs then into another secret room!!

I agree, you'd be much better to go to a regular mall. Karama is all fake items and some of the prices they want is sky-high, especially for the fake 'named' brands. It will be so hot going in and out of the shops and I hate how the sales guys just hover around, making stupid conversation and stare:( your choice at the end of the day but my recommendation is to avoid. And to answer your other question, yes, some stores may close for the afternoon.

we were in Karama a few weeks ago, all the leather handbags are fakes and depening on the "name" we paid between 350 - 600 dhs after seriously haggling. as well and handbags they sell genuine fake shoes, watches, pandora bracelets and similar, sunglesses, clothes etc etc. We parked on the road with Jumbo at the end of it, there is a carpark either side of the road. As far as i can remember they do have a day break and 2-4 is ringing a bell but dont quote me on that.
