Recommendations wanted for a local lawyer who can confirm release of police case filed by the bank for non-paying mortgage
Hi,
Friends of ours who are currently overseas had a dispute with their bank over their mortgage rate that was suddenly increased and which made it difficult for them to make payments. The bank subsequently filed a police case against them. The parties recently reached an agreement on a lower interest rate and our friends have started repaying the mortgage again. The bank has given them a letter saying that the police case has been withdrawn and they are now free to enter the country. Our friends would like to come back to Dubai but they wanted to talk to a lawyer first to ask what other assurances/clearances they should request from the bank so there are no surprises when they enter the country. They also wanted to make sure that no cases have been filed against them in court which would stop them from leaving the country after their trip.
