Hi ladies- today I learned that ALL visit visa applications for nannies have been refused for ireland this summer. This is completely out of the blue and no official announcement was made explaining this. Yes people were given reasons on their individual letters but many of their nannys have been traveling to Ireland for some years with no problems . Can anyone shed any light on this issue as the process was so straight forward before and no it seems as if no one is going to be allowed travel with nannies.

Anyone have success appealing the decision to refuse the visa? BTW, reason for refusal was 'may abscond' and 'may not adhere to the visa conditions'. She has travelled to Ireland with us at least 10 times to visit and she would get a 90 day visa even though we would only apply for 3 or 4 weeks. Seems it must have something to do with the UAE ambassador case then.

Maybe something to do with a case taken by three maids against UAE ambassador regarding mistreatment and pay in Ireland and their rights under Irish law? Absconders may be more frequent and this is the Irish Governments way of dealing with it? Here's the article http://www.arabianbusiness.com/uae-recalls-irish-ambassador-amid-staff-mistreatment-claims-573425.html
