Normally your insurance will cover the replacement of your windscreen (minus a small excess perhaps) as your car is not safe while driven with a damaged windscreen. You should not loose your NCD.Look into your insurance booklet for details on windscreen repair.

We have a major crack in the car's windscreen due some debris or a rock or something that flew up while my husband was driving on SZR. Does anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced replacement windscreen? (It's for a Skoda if that matters.) The repair garage our insurance recommends quoted an exorbitant price saying it had to be imported from Germany. I'm thinking there's got to be a cheaper option... Drive round Al Quoz back of Times Square lots of garages there that will be so cheaper!

There are some garages in Ramoul that will do it for around Dh500, we had one done for an old Nissan Patrol.
