The people who may well take offense at it are those who have the authority to extend or deny us the privilage of being in this country, and moreover are likely to be equally offended as being dismissed as people who "just like to moan about something".
You are applying your one sided perspective without consideration for the convictions of others, and then you deride any suggestion that its appropriate to be sensitive to what they hold dear. I disagree.
If you want to demand tolerance you need to practice it yourself or else accept that you are the epitome of your own criticism.
