Hello,

I would really appreciate any tips or advices on the the below.

For over a year now, I have been struggling with sleep. I am not sure if this is normal or not, as I can not say I have a disorder but what I have realized is that the minimum number of hours I need of sleep is usually 9 and max 10 as opposed to most adults who need 6-8. 6-8 hours will have me yawning and sleepy up until the evening and then I would feel awake.
I wake up at 7 am every morning, and always try to be in bed to fall asleep by 10:30 11pm.
However, I end up staring at the wall and sometimes end up falling asleep at 2 or 3am. Naturally it is very hard for me to function properly.

Even during weekends, if I wake up really early, I usually fall asleep by 2 or 3 am. It is like my biological clock feels that 2 - 3 am is the appropriate time and hence waking up at 11am - 12pm is reasonable.

I really do not know what to do to be able to fall asleep not so late, and be able to wake up fresh and not so sleepy every morning.

I have tried many different sleep inducing teas, forcing an early wake up and start laying in bed earlier than usual, without using my phone before sleep. Eliminating sugar intake 2 hours before sleep. At times I even take panadol night to help me fall asleep. Most times it does make me sleepy after an hour but I still wake up sleepy after 8-10 hours of sleep

I obviously have a problem and was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice. What kind of a doctor or specialist can I go to with such problem? Any advice on who to see?
