About one week ago, some guys with excavators have started playing with the sand moving mounds of sand, digging holes and filling them again. I am checking on them everyday but I don't see big progress. So I was wondering: when will the park be ready? I found articles mentioning the works start date, but nothing about the opening date. Do you know anything about it? Some days they are also quite noisy...

I wouldn't count on a couple of weeks, I thought maybe a few months, DH as optimistic as ever says 12 months the way things work here. Honestly you would think in the interest of good PR they would have advised all residents of their timeframes, even if they over stated! Amazing what a bit of good communication can achieve in restoring good will. I agree. Anyway I also hope the area will be dog friendly. I do not have dogs in Dubai but I like to hear dogs barking here from time to time, and I also like hearing people playing the piano around here somewhere, makes me feel home.

I really hope it will be ready soon so that I can walk with my baby in the pram (she will be born in a few weeks), but even more imprtant I hope the noise will be over by then. Thanks!

They have actually put in some palm trees and there are pallets of pavers, so it looks like systems are go! I'm terribly excited as it will get rid of the dust bowl out there. We only hope this is an indication that tenants are going in in golden mile (hopefully waitrose). Our management have been in contact with nakheel and I have written to them to see when the finish date is, but surprise surprise no reply!

They are planting trees just behind building 20 on the Shoreline and working their way up. All the landscaping has started between the Shoreline and Golden Mile. I live in Building 17 so can see it progressing. edited by TheMrs on 23/10/2011
