I take my normal, cheap bike to Adventure HQ and the guys there are very nice and helpful whether its an inner tube change or complete service and new gears and chain or just fixing a bell and lights on for me. I'd highly recommend them. They are pretty quick too.
I went to that well known place a couple of years ago and they couldn't fit me in for weeks, so I found Adventure HQ. i'm glad I did.
Huh, I am so not surprised to hear this, exactly the same thing happened to us last year. We took our two adult bikes in for a good old service/overhaul and the snobbery displayed had to be seen to be believed. Applepie78, absolutely NOT fair enough, IMO, for a business to have this attitude. The parts were all innocuous and readily available there, but they couldn't be a***d because they weren't high-end bikes. Our cash was the same colour, and we would've paid similar amounts for repairs, no matter the cost of the bike, but they simply couldn't give us the time of day.
I am surprised about this if it is the shop that I think it is you are referring to, beginning with W? Anyway there are lots of shops that could help you if you are interested in a bike fit. Ride along the road are good, Revolution at Motor City, Pro Bike behind MOE, the Bike Hub to name but a few, call them before you go and you may have to book. I am very happy with the service I got at the W shop though and they are very professional normally so dissapointed to hear this.
Its fair enough! Its like taking your Robin Reliant to the Porsche garage to get it fixed- they make not genuinely have the parts etc. Take it to Go Sports- they sorted mine out for me. Or even an EPOC station- they have pumped up the tires on my cheap bike before
Thanks for this suggestion. It was more the snobbish attitude displayed that we found so disappointing.
I need a proper refit so Go Sports or the garages not an option. Does anyone know of another place that can help?

Has anyone been on the receiving end of poor service at Dubai's foremost bike shop on SZR? My husband took our child's bicycle to have it refitted this morning. He was fobbed off and told that our bicycle wasn't 'high-end' enough for them to bother about! That they were too busy concentrating on professional bicycles! Surely a paying job is a paying job? And in this day and age surely we should be encouraging children to exercise? This shop promotes itself as such and encourages participation in cycling at all levels. Is this just all talk on their part? They lost a good customer today. We'll find somewhere else to make our accessories and new bike purchases.
