I have done this exact process! I am Thai and married in Thailand in 2002. My husband is British and we had to have our marriage certificate first officially translated, then notified by the foreign ministry in Thailand and then attested by the UAE embassy in Bangkok! Luckily my brother lives in Bangkok and he did this all for us. It took about 10 days for him to do everything for us and then send back to the UK! If you need any more help with this, please let me know.

I got married in Zanzibar and got cert stamped at the Tanzanian embassy in Abu Dhabi and then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bur Dubai. Maybe mine was easier as was in English, Arabic and Swahili. Contact UAE embassy in the UK for info as I'm sure they will be able to help.

I have a company in the UK dealing with it so that side is covered, they took the translation to the UEA embassy and they said it needed to go to the Thai embassy they done this then took it back to the UAE embassy and it was sent away asking for a translation but wouldn't state what translation?
