Try lowering the dose to 1/4 -- 1/2 of one 50 mg pill -- and add ibuprofen or tylenol. It is often prescribed in the US as a blend of tramadol and acetomenephen/tylenol. Ibuprophen is a more effective anti-inflammatory for muscle and/or tendon issues. Slowly up the tramadol by a 1/4 tablet at a time till you find a dose that is effective w/minimal or tolerable side effects. Women are often more sensitive to meds than men.

my dad takes these for sciatica, for him the side effects of the tablets are offset by the pain relief benefits...

Yes I was on them for about 2 years had all those symptoms... Ask your doc for a different pain killer there's lots of choices out there. I was put on Celebrex after.

These are recognised side effects.....perhaps try just taking one pill? I find taking just one deadens the pain without to much wooziness, but you have to remember these as quite powerful drugs and it's a question of weighing up the pros v the cons.

Hi I have been prescribed tramadol as I have a muscle tear in the hip. I took two of the pills at 6pm last night and it relieved the pain. However now I am feeling terrible, light headed, nauseous and confused. Is this normal. THX ACB
