Hopefully there is someone on line at the moment who can help me. DH is away - stuck for a few days - and I am trying to be a nicer DW/DIL, so am trying to do a Mothers Day Card in Welsh for MIL via Moonpig.

So far I have Mam and Hapus.

Can someone please translate : Dear Mum, Hope you have a Happy Mothers Day, Love DH xxxx

DH is not into flowery words so that is more than enough.

Gyda cariad - means 'with love' Gyda llawer o gardiad - means 'with lots of love' so correctly (I think!), it would be written as follows Gyda (llawer o) cardiad - with (lots of) love oddi wrth - from (but you don't need to put this in if you don't want to) GA & Brother xx Croeso! (welcome)

Annwyl Mam, yn dymunno Sul y Mamau hapus iawn i chi, Gyda cariad GA or if you are very familiar and your mother is younger, and how you would speak to a very good friend or a child (sounds stupid but there is familiar and 'respectful' Welsh) it would be: Annwyl Mam, yn dymunno Sul y Mamau hapus iawn i ti, Gyda cariad GA My Welsh is rusty but I did do my education through the medium of Welsh, but spoke English to my parents so we spoke both fluently, but we had the two languages going on at the dinner table as my grandfather who lived with us didn't speak English very well - so we'd have one conversation going on in two languages!

"Annwyl Man, yn dymunno Sul y Mamau hapus iawn i chi, Gyda cariad DH" - literally translated Dear Mum, Wishing you a Happy Mothering Sunday, Love DH - if you translate the meaning and not just the words :-) If I remember correctly we're a bit old fashioned Mothering Sunday and not Mother's day .....
