Hi ladies. I was wondering if anyone knew of any private tutors who would be interested in tutoring a group of around five toddlers a few mornings a week? It would obviously be very basic numeracy/literarcy and anthing else they fancy that is fun. Just exploring options to see if this would be cheaper than paying the ludicrously high nursery fees!!! Any help advice much appreciated. Thanks so much!!

Hi Delvin and Cheeky. Thanks so much for responses - can you e-mail on asiadothildebrandatgmaildotcom? Can you let me know when you have seen this so that I can remove my e-mail address from the forum! We live in Umm Suquiem and the Springs. Probably would alternate between the two.

Hi Sniffmonster, 'Im actually a Montessori Teacher doing supply work at present as I don't want to work full time. My most recent experience is with KG1 and below. Aside from what has been suggested below, the most important thing is actually having the children socialise, getting used to being in a group etc. I would love to take on a small group like this! Costs suggested below would not apply as obviously there are not the same overheads to consider as with a purpose built nursery. Anyhow, if you want to discuss this further let me know . FYI I completed a First Aid Course last year! D

Thanks Ladies for your responses. We have all our children enrolled for big school so they would be going into KG1 Sept after 3rd birthdays... it is really just more of a case of wanting them to get out of the house a few mornings a week and do a few fun classes with other babies but not wanting to spend a fortune on nurseries. Most of us work part time or full time, so we can't really do it ourself, but we could take turns hosting a group of babies with nannies and a tutor to supervise. If they can learn great - but I know that it is pretty limited at this age. So... I have looked on a few tutoring websites, but I would imagine that this would be great for mums just looking to earn a buit of extra cash for working a couple hours a day a few times a week. Other thoughts though would be much appreciated.

Another option you could think about is somewhere like peekaboo. They have organized activities similar to a nursery and a few different locations. You can pay by the hour, or they also have monthly, quartlery, bi-yearly and annual packages. They allow you 3 hours per day 7 days per week. 925DHS/month, 8064dhs/12mths. Maybe they would even look at a group discount.

We did something similar when I lived in Jordan and it worked out great. We hired a teacher who had a child of similar age to ours and didn't yet want to go back to work full time. I wouldn't necessarily call it a tutor, though ... she basically introduced our children to school - lots of play, songs, coloring, routines, etc. My 3 year old goes to a proper nursery five times a week and they don't do much more than that!
