We stayed at the Flamingo, loved it, very clean, very fun atmosphere and extremely reasonable in price. Definitely, you must do a show and visit the outlets, we had a huge win and went and spent every cent of it at the outlet on the kids, had to get an extra 2 cases to bring all the stuff home Lol Its the adults disneyland, we loved it. Enjoy . edited by egg on 18/07/2011

We have just come back from the Cosmopolitan. Brand new and right next to the Balagio. Only hotel on the strip with balcony's overlooking the strip. Fantastic food and beverage, great club, fantastic pool over looking the strip again with live music over the weekends. Maybe go to a show - O or le reve was amazing and not that expensive. Or go and see Holly!!! :-)

We've always stayed at the Luxor and booked directly. On the Strip, but not central, although you do obviously pay more for a central location. Things to remember about Vegas is that room prices jump up every Friday and Saturday night (it's a very popular year-round weekend break for Americans, so Friday nights and Saturday nights can be 2-3x the cost of weeknights) and that there a LOT of conventions, which can push up room rates at any time of the week. If you check the direct online booking sites of the individual hotels, you'll often find that they have rate calendars, meaning that you can tell at a glance how much a room will cost you on any given day of any month. For example, the Luxor is offering rooms for $55 tomorrow, but they go up to $130 on Friday and $140 on Saturday. Vegas is fantastic, although we can usually only stomach about 3 days before the incessant "ding-ding-ding" of the slot machines - which you hear EVERYWHERE - gets too much :)

If you are on a winning streak, go to the outlet malls - there are only 2. There is an indoor one where I picked up a few Coach handbags at a fraction of the cost!!!! Then there is the outdoor one ( you go in and out of shops as opposed to all the shops being under one roof. Stay away from the Aria hotel (in City Center) - beautiful property, but there was a report a day or so ago that there was a possible outbreak of Legionella. Have fun!!!

Signature!!! It's attached to the MGM Grand but is actually a condo so much bigger rooms...non smoking so really fresh rooms and all the benefits of the MGM. Jacuzzi and excellent facilities in your room. We paid 800 sterling including flights from here for 5 nights.

Loads of hotels at GREAT prices in Vegas right now! Cirucs-circus (strip) ideal for families, is at a low of 29USD for the manor, and 39USD for the south wing. Luxor is 55USD, and even MGM is like 50. Hooters is also cheap! I know cause the family is going soon- kids won't be happy without a Vegas stop everytime!:) - I only ever book with expedia.com

We have stayed at the Luxor which is lovely and mid range I would say, and we stayed in one of the tower rooms which were bigger than the main hotel rooms. HTH
