Girls will just have to re name ourselves weight shifters!!!! WW will dot endorse us having any kind of group over here. But we can just say it is a few friends getting together, wether we follow old points or new. It is the support that counts and frsh idea. We Can Shift that fat together. ACB ACB - only problem with this name is that "shift" means to move somewhere else!!!! :)

Their 'official' reason was that it would cost them too much to set up in the region, if I remember correctly... (Lots of sugar free jelly in Choitrams too!)

Another question anybody seen sugar free jelly out here? TIA The only place I've found it is at Safestway. They have a good selection of flavours though - the original jell-o brand

WW really don't want anything to do with the Middle East - there were a group of us with CycloneT when she tried and tried to get them to support us (tried both Europe and Australia over a long period of time). They tried to send lawyers after out little group too, so just a warning if you do want to set up a group (and I wholly support the idea having lost 2 stone during that time and kept it off!), be very careful about not mentioning them :( This really doesn't make any sense, any ideawhat exactly their problem is, they are happy to take our online money and lets us subscribe to the magazine, but no other support. This is disgraceful. :(

I think CycloneT left Dubai. I am since 1st August on a diet, a lot of joghurt, chicken, vegetable, salads, fish 2 litre water a bit of gym , so sweeets and I lost without starving 5 kilos. I aimed to lose per month three kilos but it just happend to b emore so I don't want to complain. No munching around during the day on cookies, pop corn... in the office, Ramadan helped me on that I would love to switch to WW as thats for sure it is a more balanced approach but I hate to cook...

I found it - Cyclone T used to be a WW leader in Australia. I don't want to put her on the spot, but if she is willing....???? The way I see it, we use their program, which we have all paid for anyway, and just have a support group. Together we could come up with new meals for the pro-points based on the local foods we have access to. We would also set up a forum with the user groups they have online (I have no idea how to as I have not used this yet, but I am sure it can be done!!).

I can try and find a room and arrange for weigh in / chat once a week if anyone is interested. Also I have a UK address so we can order the at home kits and anything else we need and get it fed exed out here. Let me know what you girls think. ACB PS lost 2lb this week Hi There, I am interested!!! As pollydbx said, I too need to be shamed into losing weight! If we get some movement happening, we could eventually get a petition going and send it to WW - then they may reconsider??? It has to be a GROUP thing... But for the moment, let's do what we can. On another post I saw there was a lady who used to be a WW leader... maybe she may help us?? I'll do a search for her name...

That's exactly what they said to me too when I had lengthy emails back and forth with them a few years ago about setting up a group here after having lost a lot of weight alone ( husbands support only)..... They didn't have plans to in this area at all, like nobody needs help here!? Anyway I didnt join on line, originally borrowed my pure points book about 6 years ago, lost 46 kilos I'd put on over the years and never looked back. Just switched to the new pro points and get all I need from a local meeting when I go to the Uk. They are good enough to just let us in to shop......so new scales, books and food, calculator etc..... If you follow it here just make sure you don't mix the point and new pro points food up if you buy any of their food products. Doesn't work out the same now. So some things they are still selling saying 3 points are now 5 on the new system. I knew all the old points by heart but now relearning them all, also the iPhone app updated if you have it when the system changed......so a very handy thing when out shopping. Forever checking things up. Good Luck. edited by Solo on 22/08/2011 edited by Solo on 22/08/2011

Yep WW will not let us form a group. They say it is not one of their countries that is on their business development plan. It is a real shame as it could help so many out here.

ACB - are you saying WW won't let allow a group to be set up here, or the EW people? If it is WW that seems so odd, as they have so many members out here and a fair few who order the magazine. I am definitely keen to join some weigh in group. Need to be shamed into losing weight! PS. Edited to add - well done on the 2lb! edited by pollydxb on 22/08/2011

I have wriiten to them pleaded with them but they will not allow WW group over here. I was happy to run a weigh in and support group as I too still need to get off a couple of stone. It is the only weigh ( pardon the pun to shift the weight plus excercise) I wanted to combine a half hour excercise with a qualified instructor plus weigh in and WW chat. But they said no. I lost 30 KGS last time on WW this way. piled it back on when I fell off the wagon but now back on the straight and narrow. ACB

right, am going to sign up then go onto the forum and then we can 'chat' online if we use the same user names we will know who we are ! then we can maybe meet up or not as the case maybe. I think I have said this dozens of times but I need to focus and after seeing my Sister in law and brother in law having lost 2.5 and 3 stone respectively with ease (!!) through WW I think it is about time I gave it a go. will see you on the other side maybe and thanks for the advice re signing up.
