I have gone to Perth with Malaysian, but due to bad delays once I have always opted for an overnight (or 2) stop at the Pan Pacific hotel at KL airport, which is lovely. Emirates direct flight is ok....not had any problems with that. My Mom did the Royal Brunei (Business Class) and it was awful...so so so bad....She had a really bad back for months afterwards as the seat was so uncomfortable, god help those who were in economy!

Hi just wanted to update anyone interested in cheap flights to Perth. For under $1000 AUD you can fly: Dubai - Singapore return with Emirates Singapore - Perth return with Tiger Airlines Tiger can be hit and miss with luggage limits/seat reservations and is a low-cost airline but if you are looking for a cheaper option and/or a stopover in Singapore then this could be the way to go!

PLEASE do not choose Garuda as a possible airline to fly with, regardless of cost. I used to fly Perth-Bali before the crash in Jakarta. Never since then but my mum wants to save $400 on a return trip to Dubai, despite a 23 hr trip and 2 stop overs! CT - agree that MA are fantastic. I flew Perth-London and was most impressed. They have cheap one way flights too.

Hi, I have been looking into flights recently (wishful thinking). Garuda are offering the cheapest flights (ex-Perth) but Singapore Airlines and Malaysian Airlines both have great deals too. They both have a 2 hour layover in Singapore or KL, which you could extend into a stopover. I have flown both of these airlines including Emirates and think that they are all great. Emirates have really good prices in Dec/Jan. HTH! I have found Garuda to be difficult with flights leaving on time rarely and the aircraft well worn. Both Singapore and Malaysian are excellent with Malaysian airlines getting my #1 vote out off the 3.

Emirates are the only airline that fly direct to Perth. Add in the cost of the extra flying time and possible stop overs and with an indirect flightthe extra you pay with Emirates may not feel so costly after all.

no royal brunei fly from dubai too... we used them to go to london and they were exactly 1/3rd the price of the emirates fare to the same sector! :) plus it was a direct flight... but when going to perth u might have to stopover in brunei...

I haven't flown them personally but yes, Royal Brunei (flying from Abu Dhabi only I think) would be the cheapest.

Airline prices vary so much I have found, especially to Australia!! You're best to get on the net and search airlines and the travel sites to compare prices and stopovers. This is the best way I have found to travel anywhere out of here.

Please share your experiences if anyone has done Perth via an airline other than Emirates or Etihad... the last time we flew with Emirates, but I see that prices have increased dramatically! bit of a shock to my system. We would not mind doing a stopover at HK or Singapore as well. TIA edited by Majoe on 18/09/2011
