Can someone tell me what should i expected to pay for hiring a good Filipina nanny. I have some friends paying 800 for nepali maid, some paying 1200 for indian maid. I am looking for a live in nanny as i am expecting my first baby soon. Any ideas? Are filipino a better nanny or indian? Also is anyone looking to transfer or suggest a good available nanny?

I just got my housemaids Visa done and when I was getting the employment contract at DNRD before the residency sticker, The women at the counter asked me how much I am going to pay the housemaid so she can enter that on the contract. I told her X amount and her response .. yallah thats too much !!! <em>edited by mushypeas on 24/10/2011</em>

Hi there there are legal minimums to respect, and then there is the going rate... salaries of domestic helpers are on the up, and can reach more than 2000 aed in some cases!

1470 per month according to the agency that I used . ( i didnt go with a fillapino housemaid in the end, not because of the salary but the fact that it would take over 45 days for her to arrive and I needed somone yesterday !!!!!!)
