How did your cookies turn out? Did the white frosting set well over the creamy, oily nutella?

Here's the recipe for the white frosting for the black and whites (a New York cookie): White Glaze: 2 cups powdered sugar 3 tablespoons, plus up to 2 teaspoons hot water if necessary 1 teaspoon corn syrup 1/4 teaspoon almond extract Or either: 2-3/4 cups of confectioner’s sugar with 5 tablespoons of boiling water and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

I don't usually frost cookies, so I'm not too familiar with what frosting would work for the following: I'm thinking of making banana cookies, completely frost it with nutella , then decorate it with a white fern (to celebrate the ABs!)---would the white frosting for black and whites work/stay on the nutella/ would it make the cookie too sweet?
