Unfortunately most potatoes here are not flourly ones. The saudi, lebannon ones if fresh and not soft will be fine for making your own Chips. Why should anyone judge you ? i want to make proper chips (don't judge me!) and need floury Maris Piper type potatoes, but in Spinneys they don't seem to have names so much as locations of origin? Does anyone know which ones are floury and not waxy? Thanks!

I know that Maris Piper are also good for mash, and the best and closest I can find to mash is Lebanese potatoes in Spinneys. Hope that helps

I bought some nice Australian potatoes yesterday for a roast. Sorry didn't get their name, but they were v. dark brown skinned and very good when cooked. Would probably make a fine chip. I got them from mercato spinneys.
