We are thinking of taking out a mortgage here.

We have been advised to use non local banks i.e. Barclays, Standard Chartered, HSBC

Any ideas why that would be?

Are you happy with your lender, would you recommend them.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

We just had a very good experience with Lloyds here regarding an off shore mortgage. It was very efficient and the rate was better than anything our UK based broker could find there.

We moved our mortgage from Tamweel to Stan Chart last year...simply becoz of competitive rates; better service.
