I know that at least 37 people have the dvd so get ready for the [b'>February Shred Head Thread [/b'>:) Yes. I need someone keeping me on the straight and narrow! My incentive - apart from feeling a million times better about myself - is a whole new wardrobe so that should keep me focused.

Ohh I have been lurking in the dark reading and not writing ;) I am on the last day of level 2 after missing a couple of days here and there, but I have been incorporating gym workouts daily with the shred so I don't know if I can be included in this! I love the ab workouts, but only because they're one of the few things I don't struggle with. I love the feeling that comes at the end of the workout when I just lay on the floor and quietly congratulate myself! Pushups and I do not get along, but we are working on our relationship. I have no idea how much weight/cms I have lost because I didn't measure or weigh myself before hand. But I do have a dietitian who I will be seeing in a week or so and she will know as she measured me not too long ago. The best benefit of working out in general (apart from the obvious getting fit/losing weight) is that my sleeping habits have dramatically changed! I used to be incapable of sleeping before 1am and now I am snoozing by 11ish which is great! Will be in it for Feb too! I also do the cross trainer or treadmill hiking each day so you can definitely join in :)

Hi Senorita. It's a work out DVD by Jillian Michaels called '30 day shred'. It has 3 levels and each level should be done for 10 days. It is really hard but the results are amazing. Not sure where to get the dvd (I got it from I-Tunes) but I think CycloneT can help you with that...

Where are you in the 30 days? I'm on Day 10 today if I manage to turn it on. Been busy with visitors. What do you like the most and least? I like all the ab workout especially the last part. I didn't realize how hard it is when you do them slowly, you could really feel it burning. The pushups are the only part I dislike, but it's not that bad. Have you lost or gained weight or inches?i" I've lost 1 kg and 1/2 inch from my tummy. I do notice my legs look really good in jeans. I'm really happy about that. What has been the biggest benefit so far? Feeling good about my health and body. At the end of the video I feel much more fit and stronger. If your motivation has waned will you join in the February challenge? Definitely :)

Great thread and although I have fallen off the band wagon this past 10 days I am going to start again very soon. Had a cold then achilles tendon problem but I can say for sure that for the 10 days I did level 1, I felt great and was beginning to notice a difference. I am going to really go for it once from Sunday as I say tara to my visitors who have been around for 6 weeks (!) and then I have to fit in marathon training in the evening. Fingers crossed my aged body will hold up! Good luck to all and keep updating, it encourages us all. BTW, lcfcem, get into the spinning, I love it and always sneak into the back and envy the young things in the front but as soon as the music gets going, I am in the zone!! I have missed my spinning classes due to other comitments but if you are going to FF in media city from mid April, I will be back!

I will be commencing my 6th day of the shred (once the AC guys leave!!!). I may have lost a 1lb but as I am not over weight and not looking to lose weight it is pretty irrelevant. Knowing that we are keeping a record on here helps me do it most days and to keep going even when I was in agony. Weekdays are easy but it is at the weekend I find it more difficult to fit in. I find listening to Jillian really helps me get through the DVD, I know others have said they find her voice annoying but for me it keeps me motivated to go further than I would left to my my own devices. I already feel a lot better for it even although I am not a stranger to exercise. It does get easier after the first couple of days, even to the extent that I find the 20 mins goes by pretty quickly. CT is a great role model and helps to keep everyone on here motivated in their exercise and informed about healthy eating. :D

Cyclone you are an INSPIRATION - thanks for keeping us on the straight and narrow (slender?). I will be doing day 2 of level 3 later today. I've lost around 3kg but I feel the inch loss has been more significant so I wish I had measured and weighed beforehand. Will defo do this before ding ding round 2. The best part for me has been the improvement in my dodgy hip. I have cysts on the end of the bone and the pregnancy weight (my son is 3 months old) made it very very painful and before starting the DVD I was limping terribly. I've been told before that I will probably need an early hip replacement (I'm 32 in a couple of weeks and I'll probably have it at around 40) so it's very important to me to stay reasonably slim and flexible. The good news is the limp is about 90% gone and I have NO more pain. I have good reason to love Jillian. There's not much I don't like about it TBH! I heart Jillian and want a body like Natalie (I have started to think that Jillian has a crush on Natalie - just me?!). Poor old Anita tho - she's a bit sidelined... I love that I can feel my old fitness coming back too. Defo on for Feb. I have downloaded another Jillian workout (can't remember the name just now) and plan to mix it up with the shred for variety. 2kg weights this time. THANKS AGAIN CT - you are a star!

I did so well up to day 16 and then got to that time of the month and couldn't bring myself to do it. So I then lost the plot! But I have been running around Safa park. Will start again next week on level 2. I felt really good when I was doing it.

Sydgal waving from the sidelines.............. Fell off the shred just before making level 2, have been travelling, but have kept up with my new "eating regime" yes carrot sticks and cucumbers almost everyday now. (never touched a carrot stick in my life before - must have been the hypnosis - paul mckenna downloaded onto my iphone - that got me craving them) Had all the benefits of qwerty's reply, and was actually told that my legs are looking great, and that I looked like I was losing weight from two separate people. (and only one of them is actually on the payroll!) The bit I hate is the getting up and down all the time to mix up the cardio and the weights stuff (whatever its called) and confess that I skip the jacks and do 10mins on the rowing machine at the end, cos seriously if I lose much more from my butt n legs I'll have nothing left to sit on. so big thumbs up from me and count me in on the February crew.

Where are you in the 30 days? Today was day 10 level 1 for me, so I start level 2 tomorrow. Yay! Looking forward to moving up from level one now, BUT, thanks to this thread this is the first time I've got this far after several attempts. What do you like the most and least? I enjoy most of it really, especially the cardio parts but I truly hate the static lunges. OMG they still kill me! Hmmm on second thoughts maybe I should hold off answering this until tomorrow;) Have you lost or gained weight or inches? I didn't measure myself, even though I did intend to,so, I don't know for certain if I have lost any inches, but I definitely feel there is less of an overhang or muffin top than before. My clothes , whereas they aren't exactly loose, definitely sit better iykwim. So far I haven't lost any weight. Fingers crossed! What has been the biggest benefit so far? Well it's got me training and working out again. Had become quite the couch potato so I'm very glad to be somewhat back on track. Vast difference in my energy levels since starting and *mostly* but not always, it helps me make better food choices as I don't want to undo all the hard work. Also my DH has commented that I look as though I've lost weight and my butt is looking more toned. Win win! If your motivation has waned will you join in the February challenge? I didn't start at the beginning of Jan so I won't be finished until mid Feb. I'm looking forward to seeing the results first and will decide then, but at the very least I would say I will do it a few times a week and take up my running again. Thanks CycloneT, you and the other ladies have kept me going. Some days when I can't be bothered I come on here and seeing how everyone else is doing really spurs me on. Cheers !! :)
