Hi Cakes The sensor pad is essential, it's the thing that monitors the breathing and what makes the Angel monitor so unique. Kalah.Hall - you seem to be responding to every thread with an advertisement !

We have a 5 month old LO and are so pleased with the Angel Care monitor (bought it from Babyandme.net - but must add I was not impressed with the customer service from them - we waited over a week for delivery and even though I called and left voicemails asking the status of my order, no one ever answered the phone or returned my call which was extremely frustrating). It was 550dhs through them, I would recommend buying it from Bumble Bee in Dubai Mail if it's a similar price. Our LO grew so quickly and we had to move him into his room at 4 weeks. Just knowing that I could wake in the middle of the night and look at the handheld unit and see the little pendulum swinging was so worth it for me. When they are so little you wake up all the time checking on them and I never would have gotten any sleep if I had to go into his room each time. I've noticed that I'm also especially grateful for it now at 5 months, he loves to roll over onto his tummy and stay that way. With this monitor I don't have to worry about him doing that. The only issue I've had is that I've found the range isn't very good but to me that's a small price to pay for peace of mind. Edited to add that the Angelcare has a great temperature monitor. Not only do you always know what the room temp is but you can set upper and lower limits so if the temp changes to out of those ranges, an alarm will sound on the handheld unit. edited by Kaba on 20/02/2012

Would highly recommend a video monitor (we have the summer baby touch). Didn't go for it till dd was standing up in cot and then it was a life/time saver as we knew what she was up to. Cant creep in on her as such a light sleeper so was good to be able to see her. Also has a temperature indicator and 2 way talk.

We were also very happy with the Angelcare. I second the comment below about the temperature monitor being very handy.

We started with a baby monitor but then switched over to the Angel monitor and find that it gives us that little bit of extra added peace of mind. We bought ours from the babyandme website.

We are really please with the Angel care monitor. We tried another monitor before buying this but returned it because there was too much static. The angel monitor is really clear and I find the temperature monitor really helpful in the summer months.

I highly recommend an Angel Monitor. My DD is 2.5 and we still use it. Mine came with 2 receivers so we have 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. Well worth the investment.

We used one with DS (now 2) and I found it to be great peace of mind, but also it was great to hear him when he had woken if I couldn't hear him from another room. We are just awaiting the arrival of No 2 - and I have actually brought a new one (not through any fault of the monitor) I stupidly used to let DS play with it, so it doesn't work properly anymore - clearly an expensive toy/mistake for me to have made! I have attached the link for a local supplier (below) - which I considered using for ours, however I ended up ordering on Amazon and getting delivered via shop and ship because I wanted a different model to what is available here. http://www.babyandme.net/categories/Brands/Angelcare-/ HTH
